The Morphological Characters of Egg and Relationship of Immature Stages of Hermolaus modestus (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae: Eysarcorini)

The paper investigates the biology and structure of egg different developmental stages from 1st instar to 5th Hermolaus modestus (Distant) (Pentatomidae: Eysarcorini). experiment was conducted in laboratory species recognized as plant-sucking pest mostly recorded on Ocimum basilicum (L.) areas Karachi, Pakistan. male female individuals were breed under controlled condition. maximum fertility range observed 10 14 eggs per laid singly ventral side plant leaves near midrib. incubation period completed 4 5 days. Newly emerged nymphs dark red colour but later changed into brown. nymph passed through five instars progressively complete nymphal period. first 2 3 days with its specific characters. second took 6 7 large clypeus. third having scent gland plates wing pads, fourth fifth H. 8 9 prominent mesonotal metanotal respectively. total varied 26 31 life cycle showed variation 30 36 body length 4.8 mm 5.0 mm.
